you keep your swimming pool clean and pool maintenance to a

Your
Swimming Pool and the Automatic Pool Cleaner:
Your swimming pool is a closed loop water system. Most swimming
pools have three sets of filters; one on your pool skimmer as
the water leaves the swimming pool and is pulled back to the
pool filter, a second basket filter just before your filter, the
third filter is the larger swimming pool filter. It’s a good
idea to check your pool skimmer once a week and the pool skimmer
basket once a month.
FireThePoolMan.com’s
suction based
automatic pool cleaners attach directly just before the
first pool skimmer. It generally takes between 5 and 10 minutes
to set up the automatic pool cleaner and requires no tools. We
recommend one of two options. Option 1 is to use our easy to
install (no tools required) adaptor on the pool skimmer pipe
that allows the filter to alternate between skimming the pool
and providing power to the automatic pool cleaner. Option 2 is
to use our easy snap on enclosed skimmer basket on the hose that
is running the automatic pool cleaner. Both options will
minimize the debris that travels through your lines and gets to
your second basket filter and the swimming pool filter.
FireThePoolMan's
pressure based automatic pool cleaners
require a booster pump. These pressure based cleaners tend to
have more flexibility for cleaning hard to reach areas of your
pool --- behind stairs and steps in the pool. Installation of a
pressure based unit more difficult. The connections go to
the output vents of your pool. You also need to install and
connect the booster pump. Pressure based units tend to do
a better job than suction units but the actual benefit may be
very small depending on your pool.

Checking Swimming Pool Chemicals:
For most swimming pools a simple weekly water test will do
the trick. FireThePoolMan.com offers simple
swimming pool testing kits. Pool acid level and chlorine
levels can be tested in minutes.
Swimming Pool Filter Maintenance:
Over time your
swimming pool filter water pressure will go up. Most pool
filters have a “redline”; recommended high level. When your pool
filter reaches this pressure, it is time to back-flush the
filter, or clean the filter. This tends to be a once a year job
on most swimming pools. This is a job that you may want to have
a pool maintenance professional do annually.
Other swimming pool maintenance tips:
Occasional swimming pool skimming and pool vacuuming after a
major storm usually keeps your swimming pool in top condition.
